My Review of Large Rectangular Vinod Trunk

Originally submitted at Cost Plus World Market

When we discovered this great-looking, hand-chiseled Vinod Trunk, we spent hours thinking outside the box to create a list of uses for this versatile accent piece. Use your imagination! It can be anything you want it to be - a coffee table, a spot for a small television, storage for books or kids&#...

This wonderful trunk has had high traffic daily use in my busy family room for the last 4yrs...and its still going strong!! My boys are now 6 & 9yrs and if it can stand up to these two as a toy chest it will still be around for future generations to come. This is the one piece of furniture that no matter what style has come and gone it works. Its a great transitional piece and as a designer its important when you change the decor as much as I do. The nicks and scratches add to the character and it still looks as good as the day we bought it...LOVE it!!

Late April in the garden!

What a windy night!

The last of the tulips are still in bloom, the leaves are coming on full now on the maples and the lilacs are at their peek of blooming. The whistira is out and barely survived the wind last night.

I have planted my hanging baskets with fushias, this year I went with Multa...
Freddies had a great deal of 5 for $3, can't beat that!!
I have airated the lawn, I just need to get a de-thatching rake.

This spring/summer Dave and I want to have a kitchen garden, full of things like Thyme, rosemary, parselly, carrots, cellery and tomatoes...so excited to get this going!!

April is Spring time!

...and Spring is officially here?

It felt more like spring back in Jan/Feb. Now its cold and rainy! Well I guess its good for the plants and I get to wear my cute pea-coat and boots a little longer.

The flowers are blooming and the color is coming back to murky, gray Seattle. Red Tulips, Pink Azaleas, cherry blossoms and so many more beautiful bursts of color...love it!
Here are some pics I snapped in my front yard, just after I got back from my week long trip in Paris.

January and the garden is budding?
What the....

This has been one crazy winter, in December we had one of the coldest weeks on record -11 brrr! And now January we are in the 50's and the gardens are starting to come back to life!

I am crossing my fingers we do not get a Feb frost or it will be goodbye flowers =( I'll be the crazy gardener out there wrapping my garden in blankets I guess...lol!

Last week we had temps of 56 and sunny, blue skies. What better thing to do than get out in the garden! Cut back all the hydrangeas, pulled the grass out of the garden beds, trimmed back my fruit trees, started shapping some hedges. Noticing lots of bulbs poking their heads up and lots of buds on the fruit trees, even my hydrangeas are getting their leaves....CRAZY!!!!
