What a tease...

Last weekend was so beautiful and sunny! The kind of weather that makes you want to run out in your garden wearing your pj's, because you don't want to miss a second of that brilliant blue sky!
It was wonderful! I had a chance to garden, pull weeds, dead-head my hydrangeas, clear some leaves and do lots of planning and dreaming! (by the way, yes I was dressed and out of my pj's for most of the above!)

Today however, it is quite a different story!....SNOW!! What the heck! No, I thought Spring was here =( Its these little teases of Spring that make me hate winter all the more. I really thought I was going to cry!
As I type this it is still coming down, we must have about an inch out there now. While it looks really pretty and my two little guys who are on school break think its wonderful, I'll be out there with towels and blankets, trying to prevent my new Spring shoots from freezing to death...Did I mention I wanted to cry!

Wish me luck, but most of all wish my bleeding hearts, magnolias and hydrangeas luck...my poor babies!

  1. I hope your poor babies turn out fine. They seem to look strong and healthy in your photos.

  2. When it comes to the white stuff, most plants don't mind snow so much It's frost that is the killer. It's been my experience that the small , near to the ground, baby plants take it the best.

  3. Oooh, love the rock wall! Did you build it? I know how you feel with the erratic weather. Can't wait for spring.

  4. I know the angst you feel when the cruel weather changes lay waste to the garden..hopefully there will be little damage and your spring will stick..ours has yet to arrive and we just keep getting more snow...great wall BTW

  5. I too am a big fan of your fabulous rock wall! What a terrific job. I'll keep fingers and toes crossed for your littl ones ... here's hoping they come through this last fall of snow!

  6. Same thing here, the hint of spring with 50 degree weather, then the snow rolls in on the heels of 15 with a wind chill to make it zero this week. Luckily the bulbs are smarter and have yet to show. I took advantage of the weather with my camera not my spade. Up here, snow might ruin our May plans so I am so wary to ever believe we are going into Spring. My tulips will be sure to see their blanket of snow in March so like your image above, I should have a few of those in a month, but like Becky said, they always come through fine.

  7. So far so good! They seem to have come through this snow fall! Although they are predicting another 6in today...booo! Thank you all so much for your sweet words, it was wonderful to wake up to all your comments...xx

ps. I wish I could lay claim to building the rock wall, it was however a huge selling point on the house for me, it had so much potential and has been soooo fun to plant out =)

Thanks for stopping by and reading my latest post! I love sharing my gardening adventures and reading your wonderful comments. Happy digging...Cheers Julia!!
