My first Blogger Award...beyond thrilled!!!

I could handle starting my week like this more often!

With yummy "hubby brewed espresso" in hand (complete with coffee art rosette, yeah he's a keeper!) my snuggly jammies still on and in no rush to go anywhere or do anything this chilly Monday morning. Oh did I mention the kids are off to school and the house is blissfully quiet once again. I flick my laptop on and catch up with the same old stuff, monotony that Facebook has become...funny photos and everyone complaining about Monday again! My Fitness Pal to log my diet for the day, only to already be craving chocolate and wondering if I have any peanut M&M's left. Then over to my blog, always save the best for last ;) Hmmm...What to post today? I was planning on posting about a cold frame that I am starting to build from salvaged materials, very excited about this project! But hang on, a new comment, got to read that...woot!

Beth from PlantPostings had left a comment saying she has awarded me with the - Versatile Blogger Award! Oh my, thank you! thank you!! What a wonderful feeling a) to be selected and be amongst other amazing blogs on the list. And, b) to know that others are even reading my blog. I am honored indeed and greatly appreciative of your kindness Beth, thank you! What a wonderful way to start the week!

Here are the rules of the award:
  • Post the Versatile Blogger Award to your post/blog.
  • Thank the blogger who nominated you with a link back to their blog.
  • In the same post, share seven completely random pieces of information about yourself.
  • In the same post, include this set of rules. Check.
  • Forward this award to 15 fellow bloggers, and inform them with a comment on each of their blogs.
Completely random info about me....
  • I love falling asleep to the sound of rain, so much that even on the coldest of nights I will crack the window just so I can hear it better. I also have a Rain app on my IPad. Seattle is a pretty perfect place for me!
  • Ever day I have the "next great idea" just wish I acted on them!
  • I have a phobia of clowns!!
  • I am a huge believer that Monsanto, GMO's and processed foods are the root of all evil! And are way scarier than clowns!
  • I collect Christmas ornaments from all around the world, its my fave holiday and would leave my house decorated all year if I could!
  • I am a procrastinator and my house is one big unfinished project! Maybe the Chrissy tree will stay up all year after-all!
  • This year I hope to go back to work after 10yrs of staying home with my kids...again up there with clowns!

A wonderful list of  bloggers who inspire me and whom I'd love to award....

Hope this brightens your day as much as your blogs brighten mine!
Thanks friends for all the wonderful posts over the years, both your blogging and gardening are so inspirational and a pure joy to explore. And thanks again Beth for the opportunity to stop and show appreciation to some truly beautiful fellow bloggers...Cheers Julia

ps. there are so many wonderful blogs that I love and it was hard to limit this to just 15.

    1. You are so welcome Alison. I always love catching up with your NW garden. I'm looking forward to reading your random things, it's a fun way to get to know other bloggers. Although it was harder than I thought coming up with them and not making them all gardening based...good luck ;)

  3. Congratulations! I just recently received this honor as well. It feels so nice to be appreciated. You have long deserved it and much more. I, too, like the sound of rain, and I listen to cd's of nature sounds--some of which include rain. Enjoy this wonderful honor!

  4. Thanks Julia! This really made my day! My schedule is a little crazy this week but I will post soon! I too collect ornaments from all the places we've visited/traveled. We have a very eclectic Christmas tree. I also hate processed food. It is all homemade/organic at our house. Thanks again for the honor, you are so sweet!

  5. Hey Julia: You are very deserving! I agree it was really tough to limit it to 15, and I kept losing track of who had already received the award. I chuckled about the clowns -- I have a very funny story about the movie "It."

    1. Yikes that movie I think was the start of my clown phobia, well that and the scary one I had chance me when I was 4 but that's another story! Thanks again Beth for this wonderfully rewarding opportunity...cheers xx

  7. Congratulations Julia. And thank you so much for nominating me. I have received this award before so I won't pass it on again but I really appreciate it. Unlike you, I hate the sound of rain - especially at night. But I'm with you on "the next great idea"! Good luck with your return to work.

  10. Hello Julia, congratulations!!, no other blogger could be more worthy. How very kind to include me with all of these others, I truly appreciate it. I wont be following through with any of the qualifying requirements as I have been diagnosed with an eye condition and limiting my on-line time would be the sensible thing. Still able to maintain my blog and visit others as usual, only just found that by pressing control and + I can increase the font size, fantastic!

    1. Thank you Alistair, your blog was one of the first gardening blogs I ever came across, its always been special to me! I'm so sorry to hear about your diagnosis, hope its temporary and am happy to hear you will still be posting!! Cheers to health =)

  11. Congratulations! You deserve it. I was awarded this recently, and it really is super hard to narrow down all the great blogs out there to just 15. I'm a big procrastinator too - drives my husband crazy, who schedules everything!! Good luck on going back to work. That would be a bit scary, but exhilarating, too. I hope you find just the right place.

  13. Congrats Julia, well deserved! You picked some great blogs, and although I read most of them regularly, a couple are new to me, so I'll have fun checking those out! I totally agree...Monsanto, clowns that they are, way waaaay scary! No amount of clown make up can disguise that!

  14. Nice to get to know you better. Darn those peanut M&Ms! You too, huh? I'm not terribly fond of clowns either. Not sure yet about Monsanto. I need to do more research. And, last September I went back to work after, get this, 28 years! If I can do it, you'll have no problem. :) Congrats on the well-deserved award. You rock.

  15. I agree with you about the sound of rain - and GMOs and big agriculture. Clowns are an apt image for much of our public life, I'm afraid. That's why I prefer reading blogs to reading the news!

  16. Dear Julia, You are so deserving of the award - Congratulations! And thank you so much for passing it on to me. I loved learning more about you... We agree about the sound of rain. The porch under our bedroom window used to have a metal roof and how I loved waking up to the noise of rain falling on it. My husband keeps suggesting we replace the shingles with metal again. I think he may be right. P. x

    1. Oh Pam Thank you and you are so so welcome!! I love your blog and your gorgeous garden. Isn't rain on a metal roof the best! I have often wondered where I could add a roof as such, purely for the sound of the rain dancing on it! Sounds like you have a smart husband there. hehe! Cheers xx
