Wordless Wednesday...Foliage follies
The
under-rated,
the given,
the backdrop to the scene stealing blooms. Color,
beauty, whimsy, pattern, shape are just some of the stunning attributes foliage can bring to a garden! I say steal the spotlight back foliage,
you are striking all on your own....
OoOoooh I can definitely appreciate a colorful foliage post- nice one! Are those begonias in the second pic?
ReplyDeleteBeautiful foliage, thanks for these lovely pictures. I love coral bark maples (if that's what yours is), you photographed it so well.
ReplyDeleteOh yes, it is worthy in its own right! Beautiful captures...I love the way the hostas stand like a small forest of trees.
ReplyDeleteVery, very nice! I particularly like the photo of the emerging hostas. It is one of the few times you can see what is below all those full leaves.
ReplyDeletelove the foliage porn...very cool especially the hosta
ReplyDeleteI agree with you Julia that there are so many beautiful textures and colors in foliage.
ReplyDeleteIf I could just get the deer to stop eating the hosta, I might try those again. You have some gorgeous foliage here! Thanks for stopping by and also thanks for following. Right back atcha.
ReplyDeleteAgreed! What would the garden be without texture and greens?! Super photos!
ReplyDeleteLovely post Julia! Really nice photos..bravo!!
ReplyDeleteThe first one is really gorgeous. Are you participating in GGW?
ReplyDeleteI would like to but can't decide which photo to choose. Could you assist, Julia?
Some great foliage plants there and wonderful photos.
ReplyDeleteCher
WOW! Incredible! Who needs flowers when your leaves look THAT GOOD? Amazing photos!!
ReplyDeleteThanks for all your lovely comments! I really did have fun taking these flowerless picks! Also, I'm sorry I didnt get back to this post sooner. Yikes not only distracted gardener but also distracted blogger...lol!
ReplyDeleteThanks again for your constant support and for the newbies who stopped by..Hugs to you all xx
@One, not sure what the GGW is? I sure am curious though as I love participating in garden blogging stuff especially snappy pics =) Also, would love to help you choose, do you have a post or something listing your fave's? Would love to take a peek. Cheers Julia =)
ReplyDeleteI'm really interested to know how you manage not to have ravaged hostas in your rainy climate. I have given up growing them, tho I love them so much and they would be perfect for my (unfortunatley!) shady patio. Are you not bothered by slugs and snails, or do you have a secret weapon for hosta protection?
